To improve the physical, emotional and social lives of young people in our local and global communities.

MISSION STATEMENT

To fulfill our vision by maintaining a strong membership through fun and fellowship, by undertaking relevant projects that have meaningful community impact, and by drawing on the skills of our members and their passion to make a difference.

 

The Kiwanis Club of Orillia is more than 100 years old, founded in June 1924, and boasts a track record of strong community service with a special focus on children. A few examples over recent years are:

  • Kiwanis Children’s Safety Village
  • Terrific Kids Program
  • Over $100,000 to Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Children’s Oncology Unit
  • $7,500 to the Youth Equine Therapy program at Hospice Orillia
  • $5,000 to Lion’s Oval School for tree planting
  • Twin Lakes Secondary School ‘Adopt a School’ program sponsor
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters High School Basketball Championship
  • $10,000 to Mariposa House Hospice for the creation of a “children’s area.”
  • Orillia Waterfront Festival volunteers

  • Annual High School Awards/Scholarships
  • North Simcoe County 4-H Sponsors (more than 50 years)
  • Kiwanis Fire Safety Trailer

  • Supplied high schools with teaching mannequins
  • $75,000 to OSMH Paediatrics Unit for a patient monitoring system
  • $100,000 pledge to OSMH Neonatal ICU Expansion

  • More than 95 years old we have been the Easter Seals Club of Orillia area, assisting many children with badly needed apparatus and equipment

Our Auction is a large component of our fundraising efforts to allow us to complete the above work. We are thankful for the many community-minded people who make this all possible.
