Supporting Our Community

The Kiwanis Club of Orillia is committed to supporting initiatives that enhance the well-being of children and youth in our community. We welcome applications from qualified organizations whose programs align with our mission and demonstrate meaningful local impact.

Application Requirements

All grant applications must include the following:

  • Most recent audited financial statements

  • A current list of the organization’s Board of Directors

  • A detailed project budget outlining anticipated expenses and revenues

  • Any additional relevant supporting information (maximum of 5 pages)

Incomplete applications may not be considered.

Funding Priorities

Priority will be given to organizations that clearly demonstrate financial need, as well as those whose projects have a measurable benefit to children and youth in the Orillia area.

Schools and Educational Institutions

Schools are encouraged to review the Supporting Schools section of our website to learn more about specific programs available to them.

Multi-Year Funding

The Kiwanis Club of Orillia does not accept multi-year funding requests. Organizations seeking ongoing support are welcome to reapply each year for consideration.

Through dedicated fundraising—including our annual Auction, supported by countless community-minded volunteers—we've made significant contributions:

Healthcare & Medical Support

  • $285,000+ to Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital (OSMH):

  • $100,000 to the Children's Oncology Unit

  • $75,000 to the Paediatrics Unit for a patient monitoring system

  • $100,000 pledged to the Neonatal ICU Expansion

  • $40,000 to YMCA expansion

  • Supplied high schools with teaching mannequins

Children's Programs & Facilities

  • $7,500 to Youth Equine Therapy at Hospice Orillia

  • $10,000 to Mariposa House Hospice for a "children's area"

  • Kiwanis Children's Safety Village

  • Terrific Kids Program

  • Kiwanis Fire Safety Trailer

  • Children's Drug Safety Awareness Program Sponsor

  • Kiwanis Skate Park

  • T-Ball programs

Education & Youth Development

  • $5,000 to Lion's Oval School for tree planting

  • Twin Lakes Secondary School's 'Adopt a School' program sponsor

  • Annual High School Awards/Scholarships

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters High School Basketball Championship

  • North Simcoe County 4-H Sponsors (50+ years)

  • Kiwanis Music Festival
