Investing in the Leaders of Tomorrow

Education opens doors, creates opportunities, and helps young people achieve their dreams. Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Orillia is proud to support graduating students as they take the next step in their educational journey through our annual Kiwanis Scholarship Program.

Every spring, the Club awards $1,500 scholarships to each of Orillia's three secondary schools:

  • Orillia Secondary School

  • Patrick Fogarty Catholic High School

  • Twin Lakes Secondary School

Each school administers its own selection process through an internal scholarship committee, ensuring recipients are chosen based on the criteria established by the school.

Supporting Student Success

For Kiwanis members, investing in young people is at the heart of everything we do. Our scholarship program reflects our commitment to encouraging students as they pursue post-secondary education, skilled trades, apprenticeships, or other pathways toward their future goals.

While the financial support helps ease the cost of continuing education, the scholarships also represent something more—a vote of confidence from the community. They recognize the hard work, perseverance, and potential of local students as they prepare to begin an exciting new chapter in their lives.

Celebrating Achievement

Each June, members of the Kiwanis Club of Orillia have the privilege of presenting these scholarships during the commencement ceremonies at each high school. It is an opportunity to celebrate students' accomplishments and to share a simple but heartfelt message:

"Congratulations on all you have achieved. As you complete your education here in our community and begin the next stage of your journey, we wish you every success in the future."

Watching these graduates cross the stage reminds us why Kiwanis exists—to invest in children and youth, strengthen our community, and help build a brighter future for generations to come.

The Kiwanis Club of Orillia is honoured to play a small part in the success of these remarkable young people and looks forward to supporting future graduates for many years to come.
